Viviana Velardi graduated with honours and distinction at Italian State Music Academy “N. Piccinni”, in Monopoli (Italy) with Prof. F. Monopoli.
Her deeply ingrained passion for music leads her to open up to world renowned performing artists; in 1994 she meets internationally acclaimed Spanish pianist J. Achucarro for the first time in Siena.
As of 1995, she refined her technical skills and sonority with professional piano artist and teacher Laura de Fusco, acquiring the Napolitanean tradition legacy of Vincenzo Vitale; she participated in several Master Classes with pianist B. Lupo.
She also devoted her energy to chamber music and formed a piano and flute duo with prof. Mario Caroli, gaining great success and recognition, acclaimed by vast audiences and critics alike. She was awarded prizes, scholarships, grants and concert performances in piano and chamber music competitions all over Italy (First Place of piano interpreting competition “L. Gante” in Pordenone, Second Place at piano competition “Rospigliosi” in Pistoia, Special Mention at International competition “G.Zinetti”, Second Place at International competition “Cilea” in Palmi).
After meeting Maestro Achucarro, she moved to the USA for three years. At Southern Methodist University, she attended an ad hoc program for especially talented foreign performer students.
This American experience committed her in wide variety of solo concerts and chamber cooperative performances with international prodigies.
In 2002, she perforeds as recitalist at Mannes College of Music in New York before an audience of world famous concert artists. Her superb interpretation of Images by Debussy is acclaimed as “excellent”.
She performed solo concerts and chamber ensembles in important music events in Italy and abroad (FasanoMusica, Accademia dei Cameristi di Bari, Feltrinelli-Eventi, Mannes College of Music-New York, Auditorium in Barcellona, Istituti italiani di cultura in Wien, Paris, Stockolm, Italian Ambassy in Warsaw, Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Camerata Musicale Barese, Teatro Comunale in Budrio, Auditorium Revoltella in Trieste, Teatro Verdi, Trieste ).
She participated in Chamber music courses at Accademia Internazionale “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola and at the Trio International School of Trieste in Duino.
She now devotes herself to chamber music, collaborating with exceptional artists such as flutist Mario Caroli, violinits Francesca Dego, Lucio Degani (first violin of Solisti Veneti), Roberto Baraldi (first violin of Teatro La Fenice in Venezia), first viola of Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, cellists Francesco Dillon and Erica Piccotti, musicians of Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
In July 2017, she was a special guest teacher and concert performer at the International Meeting of Scenic Art 2017 in Saltillo (Mexico), where she played as solo works and performed as a collaborative artist with the performers in residence from the Metropolitan Opera of New York.
She has been a member of Accademia dei Cameristi in Bari for a very long time (Italy).
Her upcoming concerts will be in trio with violin and cello in IIC of Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg with Christian Sebastianutto and Erica Piccotti.
